Was recently contacted by a You Bet community member to see if I had interest in joining a local Dog Sled Team based out of Grass Valley, Ca. Little did she know this had been a life goal of mine for the past 20 years :). 

Studying the dogs and how they freely run with a purpose, I also get to help clean up the dogs mess 🙂 . Such a fun experience! I have been joining her to do 10+ mile runs North of Truckee near Sierraville, CA.

Having a background in Husky k9 training (Kona SAR), I immediately designated with Dog Sledding. IMG_0762 (1)We are already putting things together to hopefully start a small recreational team myself this coming year.

There is a lot of misconception about dog sledding. These dogs are some of / if not the happiest, most driven dogs I have been around. Not only their drive and love for what they do (having a purpose), these dogs are obsessed with their handler (owner).

Grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to hopefully starting a small team here soon.
